Know Our Fibers

At Zoha, every rug begins with a fiber: natural, noble, and nurtured.
We source the finest materials from around the world to craft pieces that are as honest as they are exquisite.

Cashmere Wool (China)

Harvested from the undercoat of Cashmere goats, this fiber is synonymous with softness and sophistication. Lightweight yet exceptionally warm, cashmere delivers unmatched comfort, turning every rug into a tactile indulgence. Zoha uses only responsibly sourced cashmere, transforming it into heirloom pieces that whisper of winter evenings and timeless refinement.

Mohair Wool (South Africa)

Sourced from the Angora goats of South Africa’s Karoo region, mohair is often called the “diamond fiber” for its unparalleled sheen and tensile strength. It lends a silky softness and a natural drape, along with impressive flame resistance. In Zoha’s hands, mohair becomes a radiant thread that balances glamour with grounded tradition.

Alpaca Wool (Peru)

Nestled in the Andean highlands, alpacas produce a fiber cherished for centuries for its warmth, softness, and hypoallergenic nature. Unlike sheep wool, it contains no lanolin, making it ideal for sensitive skin and eco-conscious weaving. With its delicate sheen and remarkable insulating properties, Zoha’s use of alpaca wool honors the quiet luxury of slow craftsmanship and ancestral wisdom.

New Zealand Wool

Renowned for its purity and strength, New Zealand wool is globally celebrated for its natural resilience, high crimp, and luminous whiteness. Its elasticity and thermal balance make it ideal for handwoven rugs that endure the years while staying soft underfoot. At Zoha, this wool becomes more than material. It becomes memory, touch, and time stitched into each knot.

Merino Wool (Australia)

Sourced from the rolling hills of Australia, Merino wool is among the finest natural fibers in the world. Its ultra-soft, breathable texture regulates body temperature and resists odor. At Zoha, Merino wool finds a new rhythm, woven into rugs that combine tactile elegance with ethical traceability.

Silk

Silk, the fiber of royalty and ritual, brings an unmistakable sheen and fluidity to Zoha’s designs. Extracted from the cocoons of silkworms, its natural luster and strength add elegance, depth, and detail to every motif. Whether blended or pure, silk lends Zoha’s rugs a quiet opulence where tradition meets transcendence.

Linen

Woven from the flax plant, linen is one of the oldest cultivated fibers in human history. Loved for its breathability, crisp texture, and graceful aging, linen threads bring structure, organic beauty, and understated charm to designs that seek simplicity over spectacle.

Hemp

Hemp is nature’s strongest plant fiber and one of its most sustainable. With inherent antimicrobial qualities and high durability, hemp brings rustic character to Zoha’s rugs. Its coarse texture and neutral hues ground every piece in earthy elegance, connecting homes to the soil beneath our feet.

Nettle / Alo

A rare and ancestral fiber, nettle also known as alo in certain Himalayan regions offers a remarkable combination of breathability, toughness, and sustainability. Once used in royal garments, this fiber is now being rediscovered through Zoha’s lens as a means to revive forgotten threads of India’s weaving heritage.

Cotton

Cotton is the everyman’s comfort: familiar, breathable, and versatile. But at Zoha, even cotton becomes extraordinary. Carefully selected and woven into base foundations or detailed motifs, it brings softness, strength, and ease into harmony, creating pieces that are both approachable and artisanal.

Viscose / Tencel

Soft as silk but made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, viscose and Tencel embody the future of responsible luxury. Their smooth, luminous finish brings a delicate sheen to Zoha’s rugs, catching light and emotion in equal measure. A fiber that feels as good as it looks and does good too.

Lurex

Lurex is the spark in the weave: a metallic thread that adds shimmer, modernity, and intrigue to Zoha’s more contemporary designs. Used sparingly and artfully, it elevates neutral palettes and transforms traditional patterns into objects of bold expression.

Polyester

Known for its resilience and affordability, polyester offers vibrant color retention and stain resistance. Ideal for spaces that see life unfold daily. When blended thoughtfully at Zoha, it enhances form and function without sacrificing aesthetic integrity.

Nylon

One of the most durable synthetic fibers, nylon combines elasticity with strength. In Zoha’s use, it reinforces structural elements while maintaining a soft hand, enabling designs that are as hardwearing as they are high-end.

Polypropylene (PP)

Lightweight, water-resistant, and UV-stable, polypropylene is the go-to choice for performance-based, indoor-outdoor rugs. At Zoha, even synthetic choices are made with intention: balancing functionality with visual appeal and longevity.
